Northeastern emailed me offering a $200 reimbursement for travel costs to visit on NU Preview Day on October 15? I live in California, and a deal for booking a flight with a decent hotel is roughly more than $700. Because of the travel voucher, does this mean they see me as a good candidate for their school?
If they are willing to pay at ,at some for,you to come visit, then I’d say yes they are interested. See if they can find a student, possibly in your area of study, to host you for the night, then you would not have housing costs. You’d also see what it’s like to be in the dorms, hang with students etc. Where in CA are you from
Depends too on how interested you are in NEU. you could also tack on a couple of days to the trip and see some other schools to see while you are there…
I’m from SoCal in Orange County @twicemama
@twicemama I would like to go to their preview day, but I would only be able to make it a weekend trip because of school. I have a couple of friends who currently go to school there and in the surrounding area as well, so that would make the cost burden easier.
Do you mind sharing your stats? Any special interests/talents? This preview day is a new thing for NU so I know many are curious how this is all working. What are you interested in studying?

I would say I might have a shot at the nu.in program, but I’m not sure if financial aid will cover the costs of that program.
@Avancer I agree. I think you definitely have a shot at N.U.in. It does appear that the majority of N.U.in accepted students don’t have to worry about finances, but I think I have heard of a few people that went N.U.in and still required FA. You should ask your counselor. Also, are you considering marking N.U.in as your preference on Common App?
@Kramer1 Yes, but on the Common App i’ve put it as I’m open to considering nu.in. Should i change my answer to definitely?
@Avancer not necessarily. I would put whatever your actual preference is. I was just wondering.
