Travel: When to return from winter break

<p>I need to make plane reservations soon, but I don't know when I should get back on campus. It says on the academic calendar that "Online Registration Verification on JTF" begins January 15, but "Instruction Begins" January 22. Should I return for school before the 15th or before the 22nd? Please help. Thanks.</p>

<p>If you live on-campus, you don't want to return before the 15th because that's the day when the dorms reopen. Why pay for a hotel room if you can avoid it?</p>

<p>Don't those kids interested in pledging sorority/fraternity come back a week early?? The other kids come back right before classes resume. At least that is how I remember d's freshmen year.</p>

<p>Yes, that's right. That is likely why the dorms open so much earlier than the start of classes, to enable those interested in greek life to explore it during the week of Jan 15.</p>
