Travelling to NYC

Hi everyone,

I am beyond excited to say that I will be a part of the class of 2019! I had a question pertaining to travelling to New York City from campus. I know that it is roughly a 4 hour drive but was wondering if travelling to NYC on a weekend is a common/possible thing to do. How do people usually travel to the city? I would like to get down there at least once while I’m at Colgate. Thanks!

When you are on campus and make friends from the NY City area, join clubs that travel and otherwise become familiar with car, train, air and bus connections you will have ample opportunities to visit there. And until then take advantage of the social media connectivity offered to accepted freshmen which is more focused on your future needs and expectations than this site.

Good luck with your preparations for freshman year!

Here are two public options. Buses leave twice daily for Binghamton. From there you can connect to NYC. The bus company offers discounts for Colgate students. Or you can travel first to Utica, then take a train the rest of the way.
