Why do so many people consider these titles a major role in a club? at my schools club in canada, all we really have is one president or co-presidents running things. we don't have any "sub" leadership roles, and from what i've seen, none are needed.

yeah they aren't but they sound nice on an app. sorry to be so cynical, but most secs and tres's dont do much (at least at my school, i dont want to offend anyone who actually does do things with those roles) actually, i think they are important in nhs but not anywhere else.

Well if you're running NHS in our school, good luck being the jack of all trades president--in charge of 200 people and many events.

^Ditto what this guy said, only raise the number to 600.

Like the past two people said, try running a large club in which you have to keep track of membership, member hours, publicizing club events, etc. It's tough. For a smaller club I could imagine only having a President and Vice President, but for larger clubs, it's pretty hard. I'm secretary of a relatively big club and it's tough just to do my job.

if an NHS has 600 members, i doubt its an "honor" to be in the society though

I am the sec for my schools NHS of about 40 people. Getting into NHS is huge at my school, there are tears when acceptances/rejections get sent. Being a secretary i am on the "leadership commitee," which means our co presidnts vice and treasurer and I run the show. We dont really acknowledge our places in the food chain in our group until the end of the year when we make speaches. Otherwise we are a team and work hard together. Our presidents however do have serious ties to NHS and take it rediculously seriously and have done more than the treasurer, vice and I, but on a large scale, being a secretary is a lot of work with decisions and stress toward the end of the years. It sucs that I only get labled the secretary when in the broader picture i do a lot more then just send out newsletters. being on the leadership team however allows me to have a huge say and give me more fufillment.
