Tricky Situation Regarding ECs

I'm a senior. I've been involved in EC 1 since my freshman year, but the coach resigned this fall and our efforts to carry on without him fell flat. So EC 1 was cancelled about a month ago./or not believe me, since

EC 2 was new to the school this year, but it was cancelled around the same time because only 2 people ever showed up to meetings, myself included.

I have volunteering and 1 more ongoing EC, but I'm worried that if I update the college I was deferred to, they will think I'm a lazy bum who doesn't do anything and/or not believe me since my top two EC's suddenly being cancelled, while regrettable and true, might be a stretch. I already don't have leadership because the time commitment is too much because of my disability, and I really don't want to be seen as making excuses.

Do I include these EC updates in my deferral letter or remain silent?

When sending more information to a school that has deferred you, it’s important to highlight positive things that add to your application and avoid mentioning things that won’t help. None of the items you posted about will help your application chances, so I would not mention them. If you don’t have new accomplishments or honors to report, consider a letter focusing on why you want to attend the school and how you see yourself contributing to its campus community.

^^^ Wonderful advice!

Thank you so much! That’s what I originally thought.
