Haiku: It was pretty good, I write poetry quite often so the whole thing rhymed pretty well and had cool meaning behind it.

Thanks everyone!

I think you have an average/fair chance, though your raw standardized test scores are a tad low. Your ACT’s superscores to a 29, which helps you a little; a 30+ would have helped a lot I think. (Yes, NYU does superscore the ACT.) I personally would not have sent that SAT 600 Math Level II, but if they keep to their promise of only using the best combination of scores. You look like a solid candidate otherwise.

…I applied to Stern RD this year, so take my “chance” as heavily or as lightly as you desire. I just wanted to help out since you didn’t get much luck last time.

I actually think you have a very good chance. Good leadership activities, lots a EC. Do you have any hooks?

@ohboi, didn’t send the SAT 2, thank god. i forgot to edit that part out. haha. And thanks for the opinion! :)

@milkandsugar: I’m hispanic from Oregon, does that count?

You’re welcome.

If Spanish isn’t your first language though, I would have sent the Spanish SAT Subject Test score. I think it would help since you applied to BPE.

Yes, being Hispanic is a hook. Pretty much every minority status, except Asian, count as a hook for NYU. However, I don’t think NYU cares as much about minority status as most other schools since it is very diverse already. They probably still consider it though.

Well it isn’t my first language, I don’t know how they would know this but it isn’t.

And are you guys evaluating my chances based on BPE? If possible, could you do both? thanks!

Yes Hispanic is a hook, but NYU is diverse, your hook may be that you are from Oregon.
They seem to like west coast kids.

So good, okay, decent chance?

Just a few more comments and i’ll be set, thank you!! :)

Outside of your standardized test scores (except Spanish) you look like a decent candidate IMO.
Test scores are my weak point as well, but I am fortunate enough to have an ACT superscore of 32 from two different sittings. Hopefully we both get in! =]

Yeah that’d be awesome! haha

I dunno, hopefully they see my leadership stuff and that will compensate for the low scores. I dunno, we’ll see!
