Trillian Vs. AIM

I'm actually surprised -- most people have never heard of Trillian (developed by Cerulean Studios), and yet here on CC, I've run into at least three people who have, and use it, myself excluded. It's so much more functional than Aol Instant Messenger is. And that hide option does come in quite handy. =]

Just wondering who else is a fan.

I use Trillian. It's quite compact and not cluttered like AIM.

You know, I've always thought that the trillian default icon looked like a waterbra.

Gaim > Trillian. ;)

I wonder if AOL discourages use of Gaim - it can get revenue through ads through AIM, but it almost certainly cannot get the revenue through Gaim. I suppose it can come through the increased number of people who would log onto their AIM accounts if Gaim is allowed - and then this in turn, encourages people who only have AIM to log in more.

trillian is awesome...so much better than aim. i hear gaim is also good if you have friends who use gmail chat insrtead of aim tho

I use adium.

I've tried Trillian but didn't like it too much, I just stick with AIM.

I use trillian.

gaim is the old version now, there is a new version called pidgin. its better and it is more up to date.

Trillian user for 5+ years.

I used to use Trillian, until I realized that it takes up just as much of my system's resources as AIM. Now I'm cool and I use Pidgin (gaim)
