What is the acceptance rate for Trinity College Dublin in Ireland? I’m a student living in the U.S.
Meeting their minimum requirements for your subject is most important for getting in.
In sure you can get great data online. If you’re wondering what It takes to matriculate there.
I would also search for threads on UK and Irish schools here on CC. Most of the folks there have some experience. Post there as well.
They do not calculate the acceptance rate in the same way that American schools do, they have around 60,000 students a year sitting leaving certification exams, who rank their 1st, 2nd, (etc.) choice colleges… students then find out which school they got into in the summer sometime. Acceptance rates are looked at by course, rather than the school as a whole. Then, there are international applicants, whose process is different. As their process is much more performance-based than in the USA (activities you do do not help you); as an international student, if you meet their minimum requirements for their course you apply to, you have a decent shot. But, it really depends on the competition in the course your applying to for that particular year. My understanding is that higher ranked programs (like English, ranked 28th in the world) have more international applicants than more obscure programs. Each course has a certain amount of spots available if the international pool is competitive for the course you are applying to this year the minimum scores are not necessarily enough. But, you can apply to up to 3 courses. Irish schools assign points based on SAT, SAT II, and AP score performance, combined with GPA. It’s competitive; think top LAC competitive. When I visited, it was clear that they rank AP and SAT II scores more than American schools are, they ver viewed similarly to the leaving certs.
Is Computer Science Engineering considered more competitive?
