Well, i m not

As a past participant and prospective leader (highly competitive to get the job, b/c so many past participants want to return), I HIGHLY encourage that you give Quest some consideration. I was not an outdoorsy person prior to Quest, and I could not handle the price, either--thankfully, both of these factors did not get in my way (i got fin aid for it).
Quest was literally a life-changing experience. You have no idea what you're missing out on if you don't sign up for it. This year two options are offered--I advise prospective Quest participants to sign up for the August (longer) program, although Im sure the abridged version would be amazing as well.
Killarney Park in Ontario is unbelievable, the friendships (this sounds corny, it's not) you form in 2 weeks are incredible, etc...I never expected to find this orientation program to be so fulfilling--it was such an unparalleled experience, I have trouble describing it in words. Please just trust me and go on it. And Im just a student, Im not selling this for the school or anything--I just want other people to have this opportunity.
Fringe benefit: Every group (9 people per) spends a day with the president of Trinity College, who happens to be the man (Jimmy Jones). To give you an idea of how awesome Jimmy Jones is: He gave us a Q and A session with him in which he allowed us to ask him ANYTHING--and he was frank, trust me. He also gets to know everyone personally. When I see him on campus, he always says hi (still remembers my name) and we talk about how things are going.
If I sound passionate, I did my job. Quest was incredible.

dont worry, we're on spring break--i wouldnt be posting at 2:34 am on a fri night/sat morning if I were at school......

Wow that sounds exciting. But do internationals participate in the program? Esp. sb from as far as south asia

Yes they do. There were a couple Nepalese on the trip last yr, a girl i think from Sweden etc...

Hey,

I agree with sh71988, I participated in Quest this last summer and it was awesome. It is great to have a support network in place before you get back to campus. But do NOT go if you arn't willing to push yourself - because it is really physical and mentally stressful at times. With that said, it was one of my best summers in recent memory and I still see my patrol group every day.

yay! do quest. i am from nepal and i came 20 days earlier just to do quest. it was awesome and i am doing this year again as a leader. this year quest has two programs- one in apalachian trail and the other in killarney.

Would someone tell me what you did at Quest program? What type of boots are required? If possible, can you give me some links on the web that can help me identify what type of boots I'll need at Quest. Thanks a lot:D

I will join the 4 day B program for sure. I got my confirmation email yesterday.

Did you pay for the deposit? And btw, where do you come from, tryyourbest? I don't know what type of boots to buy :(
