Waitlisted. Damn
2240 sat, international requiring full ride - waitlisted
Denied. Congratulations to all those accepted, I really hope that you enjoy your time at Trinity and make the best of it!
Accepted. 3.65 GPA and 32 ACT
Rejected, and I must say I am a little disappointed Are any of you guys international students?
Can anyone log into the financial aid portal?
@Tandoorisperrys - I can’t.
International Student, 2150 SAT, needed partial funding - Rejected. Oh well~
34 ACT, 770 math 2 subject test, 750 chemistry, senior classes: AP Calc BC, AP biology, AP statistics, AP psychology, honors Brit lit, 4.1 weighted GPA, 2 varsity sports (captain for one) lots of community services, visited campus. WAITLISTED.
I don’t want to discourage anyone but if you are an international student, you need a substantial amount of finaid, and you applied RD, then you made the wrong move. It should be common knowledge by now that most int’l students at Trinity applied ED, and many of them got 2200+ on the SAT. Compared to most people who pay full, yes your stats maybe are better. But in the strong pool of international students who all have stellar records and all need fullride-ish finaid, you are, urmm, just another applicant. Why accept RD applicants who can change their minds when you can accept ED ones with similar stats? FYI, 19/20 students from my country applied ED!
Not international; stats that should match…Asian…waitlisted.
Waitlist sting is gone. Accepted at Vassar, Holy Cross ($32,000 a year scholarship), and Brandeis. I’m sure Trinity has its reasons. Best of luck to everyone in Hartford.
@ctstudent -Congrats! Those are fabulous options.
Can anyone get onto the financial aid portal? I still can’t and there was nothing in the admissions packet that came yesterday either. I’m not expecting a lot of need-based aid, but I did apply to have the option of loans and most schools that have admitted me have given me small merit scholarships ($5000-10000), which would make a big difference for my family. I won’t be considering Trinity if I don’t get a comparable offer because I have equally appealing options where those scholarships are on the table so I wouldn’t need loans.
The financial aid packages were mailed today! You can expect them by the middle of next week!
@ctstudent: what kind of “scholarship” to Holy Cross…they don’t do merit aid. Was it part of a financial aid package?
Yes, I didn’t mean to suggest it was a merit scholarship.
Trin has a full tuition Presidential Scholarship. However it is only awarded to six extremely high achievers who are probably also Ivies candidates.
Thanks @ctstudent We are new at all this and still trying to figure out which schools offer merit aid. It can get a little confusing.
