Anxiously awaiting the merit aid notification here too!
Are the folks who got acceptances yesterday ED or EA?
@rayrick My daughter was EA.
Thanks @txserenity. No word yet for my son. Not sure how to interpret that. We didn’t try to get him set up with a portal account on their site until last night – no idea if that makes any difference one way or the other.
I apply ED but still no decision yet, maybe later
For those awaiting merit aid information (acceptance email has no information about merit aid), I just called Trinity and was told the EA acceptance letters that contain merit aid awards were mailed yesterday.
So, apparently my son actually DID get an email from Trinity last night, but it was hiding in a corner of his gmail that he rarely looks at. He’s in!!
For those still awaiting decisions, I actually spoke to Trinity today, and while their largest wave of decisions went out yesterday, they’re still processing stuff and there are more to come. So, there’s reason to keep hope alive!
Are they gonna send them on weekends? @rayrick . I’m dying literally right now :((((((. So nervous, and congrats your son. Is he going to study at Trinity?
Sorry, @Quanh261997, I didn’t get any details, particularly after they told me they’d sent my son an email on Thursday. I feel for you, it’s anxiety provoking stuff. I hope you get the outcome you’re looking for!
As for my son, Trinity is a serious contender. Definitely in his top 3. A bit too soon to say whether or not he’ll attend, but it’s a distinct possibility.
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back tomorrow! You think it’ll be after 4PM?
Anyone heard anything?
nope, nothing yet, it’ll definitely be today though!
Glad I’m not the only one… I’m nervous. Been thinking about it all day
Waitlisted. Guess Trinity likes people with money. Oh well, good luck you guys
Got my letter today with merit aid! And I do have to say - I am EXTREMELY impressed with the package/envelope thing. Very fancy! Aaanyway, $21k per year. See Post #13 on page 1 for my stats
Also, I’m in Seattle.
Rejected
@Quanh261997, sorry to hear that you were waitlisted, but waitlisted is not rejected. We see this happen every year with schools that are not need blind.
You have great stats from what I have seen on another thread. You have stated that you are an International with much financial need.
I am a US Parent, so I do not completely understand the International application process, but I believe in your app you had to disclose how much you are willing and able to pay annually towards your college education.
If Trinity is your first choice, and you are able to find more scholarship or funds to contribute, then your waitlist status may very well become an acceptance. I don’t know what your numbers are, but look at threads from last year, when an International student initially told the school he/she could only pay a small amount each year. When waitlisted, that student changed his/her number to something more than $20K range, and was then accepted.
I saw you got a Presidential Scholarship at Temple. Congratulations!
@anothermuggle My daughter received her merit aid award on Saturday and I thought the same thing you did about the packaging. The whole package was impressive! I especially appreciated the personal note from her admissions counselor that showed she really read my daughter’s application.
If you decide to come to Trinity, you should enjoy our mild Texas winters compared to Seattle!
@Quanh261997 sorry that you are waitlisted. I hate that disappointment has to be a part of this process. My daughter’s second choice school released their decisions last night and while she was accepted, the merit aid was so small it made the school out of reach for her. Disappointing as we really thought it would be more, but I told her that it means she wasn’t meant to be there.
Trinity has moved up into second place for her. Still waiting to hear from Mt. Holyoke which is her first choice, but she would need significant merit aid to attend there.

Additional Comments/Reflections:
I’m really happy with Trinity and it’s definitely a contender! Plus I got the $92,00 scholarship ($23,000 ea. year) and am eligible for the full ride scholarship. Crossing my fingers! I think I got into Trinity because of my essay because my scores weren’t the best. I also think my interview with my admissions counselor helped because he got to know me a little better.
