@arifxlr8 thats brilliant… you really should update them about this! best of luck.

@Rme123: I’m an international student too

@theclick0207 what were your grades, scores and all if i may ask ?

I’m an international student and applied for regular decision. I got my acceptance email on Feb 16 and the mail package arrived two days ago. I never followed the link they sent when they offered me the choice to switch to EAII (I believe it was an automatic email sent to all who have completed their application submission), but did they do this automatically since I don’t apply EA to any other school? Anyone regular here got accepted early as well?

Other international students who got deferred, be patient and good luck to you all I’m still waiting for the decisions from my other schools but Trinity is already such a wonderful place.

@quinnpv congrats, thats really awesome got any scholarship ? and where’r u from… mind sharing your stats? ?

@Arsalh: Thanks! I believe the need-based aid is for U.S. students only, because they only offer me the “international scholarship” that is based on academic achievement. I got $25,000/year, renewable for 4 years pending on my GPA (2.0 min).

Here are some of my highlights, should it helps:

Highest SAT scores: CR 700, M 770, W 720. SATII U.S. History 700, Math I and II both 800. I don’t do many extra-curriculars, just a couple of insignificant activities around the school. I got a JLPT-N4 qualification for Japanese with pretty satisfactory results. High school curriculum is really rigorous. Took part in the national competition (subject: English) for two consecutive years, plus first prizes in the city’s competition in grades 9 and 11, and gold medals in a regional competition in grades 10 and 11.

My GPAs are actually terrible: I’m in the bottom quarter in class in math and science, although my school doesn’t report rankings. I did mention a passion for languages and classical music and being able to play two instruments in my essays and EC activities, but I’m self-taught and have not accomplished anything. Nothing athletic either.

I believe my counselor’s recommendation was something, though. I’m one of the best in his class (yes, my counselor is also my teacher). But I’m not always very socially active and am actually an introvert, except if he says exactly the opposite thing in the recommendation letter, I think it counts against me a lot.

Personally I think you don’t have to have super GPAs or numerous ECs on your profile. If you’ve shown everything you’ve got and that you’re truly passionate about sth and have done just a some-thing to pursue that passion, you’re most appealing to any admissions committee. Surely grades and test scores matter a lot, since there are few other ways to compare you with the rest of the pool, but they’re not everything, and the decision is not final till April 1, so keep heart :)

@flattery…Thank you,sorry couldn’t reply soon enough.
So what happened?

@theclick @rme123 any luck with the waitlisting thing? did any of you get accepted?
