Trinity University Fall 2017 EA Decision came early! (12/9)

So excited we cried! Our daughter got her notification today that she has been accepted to Trinity University for Fall 2017 admissions and we were pleasantly surprised with the aid package allocated for her. We thought we would have to wait until December 15 for decision per the web site. Has anyone else received their decision yet? Good luck and fingers crossed for all applicants awaiting decisions!!

My son also received his acceptance today with a very generous merit scholarship. He’s thrilled. His friend from school got her acceptance today too. It was nice to hear from Trinity so soon.

I received my acceptance today too, and received a generous scholarship as well! This is the first college decision I’ve gotten and I’m excited!

My daughter got her acceptance notification Friday evening. She was offered the Murchison Scholarship, and was invited to compete for the Tower Scholars program. She is thrilled!

Congrats to all of you!

Our S is just finishing up his finals for his sophomore year. He has had a terrific experience at Trinity, despite living a thousand miles away from home for the first time. Nice students, terrific faculty, great facilities and generous merit aid (Murchison Scholarship).

Trinity is a rarity: a true bargain in higher education.

Hope you all have as strong an experience as we have!

I was thinking I would find out the decision on the 15th, but I got it sooner that I had expected.
I was accepted and got the Murchison Scholarship. Couldn’t have heard any better news!

My daughter was looking for a Facebook page for 2021 Trinity students… anyone know if one exists, or if the University usually creates one?

Accepted with Trustee’s, but still not sure about the total costs. I really like the campus, so I might try for the Semmes Scholarship.

@MOMom22, Last year Trinity University set up a closed page for students that accepted offers to attend. It came quite a bit later in the process than January. I believe it was in the spring. Congratulations to your DD!

@Meiying745, if you are interested in majoring in any of the sciences, definitely get your Semmes application in by January 1!

Are the scholarships guaranteed for the SAT and GPA mentioned on the site? Can the recipients here share their stats?

I received the Trustee’s scholarship with a 3.17/3.76 unweighted/weighted GPA, 34 ACT, 7 AP courses, pretty good essays.

My son was just accepted to Trinity with a Trustee’s scholarship. This is one of his top choices, so he is very excited! Does anyone know the formula they use for financial aid? For instance, are scholarships applied before the EFC amount?

@sbhyde scholarships are counted toward institutional aid, not reduction in parental contribution Unless your portion was greater than the amt covered by the scholarship.

any international students here who might wanna share their experience? I am an EA II applicant from Nepal.

+1

I am from Nepal and have applied EAII. My SAT is 1390 and TOEFL 110. Got 82% on high school (No GPA).
It would be really helpful if other competitors would share their stats too as well as those who have already got their decision.

Waiting for this year’s decisions, did you get your decisions last year in the mail or was it online? Thanks and if any of you matriculated, how has freshmen year been??
