Trinity University folks

We have a very limited weekend timewise at Trinity and I want to make it a good experience for my D. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay or good place to eat. We are looking to keep it around 100 per night . So far we are considering Drury Inn, The holiday Inn on the riverwalk and Holiday Inn Express. I did think it would be fun to stay near the riverwalk. Any input would be appreciated!

Stay on the River Walk if you want to impress your daughter with S.A. The Holiday Inn with the special Trinity rate is just OK, but it's right where all the fun is on the river. Save the Drury for visits if she goes to Trinity and you want convenience and value. It's our favorite when we visit our Trinity son. Amerisuites is a LITTLE closer to Trinity and the wonderful Quarry shopping/eating area, but not as comfortable for lodging. The River Walk area is further from campus, but still very accessible, and will give your daughter a great feel for S.A.

Trinity is wonderful! Son number one has completed 2 years there. Son #2 was tempted, but has decided on NYU. We're also from Arizona -- feel free to contact me privately with more questions. Also, look at the parents page on the Trinity website and join "ParentTalk" -- a discussion group for current and prospective Trinity parents that provides a wealth of info.

El mercado (the market) is fun and as authentic as something like this gets. If it's your first time, stay near the Riverwalk. Eat at Mi Tierra en El Mercado. It won't disappoint. Full-flavor and full effect. Check for weekend specials at The Palacio del Rio. I seem to remember an $89.00 special rate.I don't know if it's on in the spring though. Have fun.

Thank you lyricasta, The Holiday Inn it is then. I will e-mail you privately when we get back. I'm excited to visit San Antonio again! Thanks for the tip on Parent Talk.

Thanks curmudgeon, we must have been posting at the same time. I will check out all these great suggestions.
