trip to rice

Hey everyone, I'm a senior that'll be applying to--and visiting--Rice this fall.
Rice has started to creep up on my list of favorite colleges over the last year, and now is up at the top (I'm especially interested in the Rice/Baylor guaranteed medical program). I have a quick question though:

~Since I live a couple hundred miles away, will going to visit Rice for an overnight visit and interview be something that'll help me in the admissions process (ie showing significant interest by taking the time to fly down there)?

Thanks

It will definately help show your interest in the school. As I'm sure you've already noticed, the last page of the Rice application allows you to list contacts with Rice, and a campus visit and overnight stay are just two of the things you could check off and say you did. I don't know how heavily (if at all) that is weighed in the admissions process, but showing interest in a school definately helps. They are more likely to offer admission (and money) to students they believe will attend if accepted.
