Triple Occupancy in NEU?

I'm considering dorming with two of my friends in NEU. As many of you know, the standard Freshmen double is prettyyyy small.

So I'm wondering if any previous or current NEU students who have been in a triple can tell me how big the triple is (they didn't show one on my tour). I don't want to move in with my friends if the space ends up smaller than the standard double.

Thanks!

It’s small. The main ones I can think of are in White Hall. With the three beds, desks and dressers, there isn’t much space. The room itself will be a little bit bigger than a double, but don’t expect it to suddenly have a load of floor space. Your room will be small no matter what. College dorms in general are small.

Thanks. Can you also explain how the bathroom and kitchen works? Is there one bathroom that is shared between the occupants of each floor or is it different for every LLC/residence hall?

It depends on the hall. Most freshmen dorms have shared bathrooms with the floor/half a floor (depending on the size and gender distribution of the dorm). There are toilets, showers, etc for everyone, and you bring your stuff to the bathroom every time. There are one or two freshmen dorms that have suites, where you get a tiny living room and a bathroom shared with 3 to 5 people- but the LLCs move around so no one is sure which will be in these buildings. Lastly some are in International Village, where you get a single or a double attached to another single or double by a bathroom (so share a bathroom with 1 to 3 people).

Most dorms don’t have private suite kitchens (if any freshmen dorm does- not sure), and some don’t have communal (I don’t think IV does). Most freshmen end up getting the microfridge rental.
