I got a letter today, dated 16 Nov., informing me that I'm scholastically qualified for an appointment to the Naval Academy. Am I medically qualified since I passed the DODMERB exam and physically qualified because I passed the CFA?

If you check the DoDMERB website and your USNA status is listed as "Qualified," then yes, you are medically qualified.

How do you know you passed the CFA?

I called the Naval Academy to ask them to email the instructions for the CFA to someone so he could administer it for me, and they told me that I had passed the CFA at Summer Seminar and didn't need to take it again. Yay!

Same with me. I thought I failed the CFA horribly, but when I e-mailed me BGO to take it, he said I had passed, and that there was no need.

Yup I got the same letter today.

And I'm medically qualed. And I know i passed the CFA.

So we're in the same boat.

Now... we wait? And work on our nominations.

Waiting sucks :)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
agreed.

While you wait, you can:
*retake SAT's
*Start a club and get elected president
*Work on improving performance in your sport (have you contacted the USNA coach?)
*finish your eagle/gold award
*study your heiny off
*organize a food drive for Christmas
Just some ideas! = )

hey USNAgirl or goingtoUSNA08, when did you finish your application?

They received my transcript (the last thing I needed), on 11OCT.

hmm, do you know if you're in division 1 for applications...like around the northeast

yep. I recieved that same letter for being scholastically qualified. I am medically qualified and friday my congressman informed me of being his principal nomination. =). My question is, however, does the academy send a letter that actually says YOUR TRIPLE QUALIFIED, or is there a possibility that the CFA went bad? I will email my BGO but I researched that west point actually sends a letter saying the canidate is fully qualified in every area.

Champs, may I ask what state you live in?

if you're the principal nominee and you're triple q'd, the academy is required by law to give you an appointment.
i don't think you get a letter saying you're triple q'd from the naval academy.
you probably passed the CFA so congrats in advance! :)

I live in Washington State. Oak Harbor Wildcats, 4A state champs 2006. (lost to Bothell this year who once again took second in state)

Thanks =), I can't wait for an appointment letter

Hi Champs06,

It's nice to see another person from Washington on this board. I'm from Seattle and go to Ballard HS. I'm impressed your Congressmen is already done with the nominations process. Mine must be slacking, I don't have my interview until next Saturday.

Did you receive an LOA?

No actually I didn't. I was surprised myself, I had the interview on Tuesday and he called and talked to my Dad on Friday. I know I am in the second District, with Congressman Rick Larsen, who is yours? Dont worry about the interview, I was pretty nervous but the board expects such from high school students, lol.

Seattle is in the 7th District with Congressman Jim McDermott. I'm not too worried about the interview. My BGO has been preping me a bit and I generally interview well. Congrats on the Nomination!

I was wondering about the LOA b/c I heard only three have been sent to Washington State so far.

Yes I heard this also, only three LOA's so far.
