What are the triples like in Warren? Are they intolerably small / uncomfortable? Or are they "cozy"? I'd prefer a single, but I'm not eligible for any financial aid and I'm not sure I could get my parents to spring for a single even if I was offered one.

Thanks!

It was originally suppose to be meant as a double but converted into a triple. I heard this year they began making them into doubles now so you might not even have an option of a triple. They’re not too packed. As long as you have courteous roommates, you’ll be fine. I got a single my first year and part of me regrets not getting a triple to save money.

The only benefit I find in getting a single is that you don’t need to risk getting a bad roommate. Space should be plenty. (Your best bet is to come visit and check it out for yourself)

They’re pretty small but certainly livable for sure.

Oh, that’s interesting. I’d definitely prefer a double to a single to a triple. Triple is pretty much last on my list, but if it’s liveable, I suppose I can live with that.

Thanks a lot for your help, guys. I’m planning a visit up there if I get accepted! (fingers crossed).

They converted most of the triples to doubles this year, with some still being triples. I happen to have a single, which I love. It’s a bit small but sometimes it’s extremely awesome to be able to blast your music and dance like a lunatic without the fear of someone staring at you. Well, I like the fact that i have my own private space when I need it. The doubles are ok and are kind of spacious. You’ll get by with it if you do get it. Triples were originally doubles so it’s definitely cramped in there. I believe that the person with the single bed only gets a dresser and his desk is underneath his bed. The two sharing the bunk bed each have their own closet and desk. I’ve seen a triple before and personally i think it’s something that takes a while to get used to (keep in mind that I have a single). Chances are, your going to get a double instead of triple if that was your first choice.

i kind of get the feeling they have empty spots in the res halls/apartments, is that why they’re re-converting them back to doubles?

^That would make sense. What else could be the reason do you think?

Do you know if Warren apartments have triples?

Yup, Warren Apartments should have triples (at least in the all-campus housing sections). You don’t have as many space problems as in the res hall triples since there is a storage room and cabinets and such all around.

The Warren apartments are all doubles. (Douglas, Goldberg, Brennen, Black)

Warren apartments definitely have triples, as I was in one as a second year. Their website also lists two bedrooms as housing 4 to 6 individuals.

I’m currently a second year living here and everyone I know is in a double. Maybe theres some I dont know of then, but a majority is a double now. Housing is desperate to get people to dorm here that they even offered $500 to people who recruited new people to live in their apartments. (Also might be a reason why its 3 year housing guaranteed now too)

All the Warren apartments are doubles this year. I know this for a fact.

My apologies then. That’s really too bad, res hall prices are pretty ridiculous compared to what you get for far less money off campus. Would’ve considered moving off earlier if I was forced to do a double. Good thing more second years are deciding to ■■■■ in this economy.
