Hi everyone. I take this site to be helpful after seeing a handful of posts and replies ^_^ I have a question to ask you guys...

Well, me and my brothers are triplets and are applying for college. Our yearly income is about 60k and we are applying to UCs and Cal States. I was wondering whether there is any information available for fee waivers or ANYTHING when applying b/c the applicaiton costs will be really hard on our father, not to mention costs when actually attending college.

Our main colleges for application are UCI, UCR, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal State Fullerton.

If you guys can be of any help, please reply, and I GREATLY appreciate the help in advance :)

I thought having twins was a great advantage with financial aid-2 in school at once. You three at once will help your family financial burden quite a bit, if you can find places that give good aid.

The UC system accepts fee waiver cards issued by the College Board, and your school guidance counselor should have those cards. The CSU system has its own waiver procedures. If you apply online through CSUMentor (csumentor.edu), they will ask you for some financial information and then you'll get the waivers automatically if you qualify.

Thanks calreader and chedva for the help. I will try and talk to my guidance counselor tomorrow for the cards, and will check out CSUmentor also.

I'm probably overrating that quite a lot, but it sounds awesome. That just sounds like a formula for fun, all the time. And if not, it's just cool anyway.

DD has a friend who is a triplet going to a LAC in Oregon with her. Another brother is also at a different LAC in another state and the third stayed local. With good grades and stats, you might want to check out some other schools with good merit aid. There was a new list started just the other day on CC

I was applying to CSU through the mentor, and it said I wasn't applicable. It asked my income and everything, but the only reason I need the waiver is b/c my brothers are applying too (it doesn't ask for any information about that).

Thanks for the help everyone. I will still need to talk to my GC though.

The problem is that even on the paper form, there's nowhere to say that your family has multiple kids in college at the same time, much less applying at the same time. Your GC might know whether it's worth trying to use the paper form and adding a note about your being a triplet.
