Trite Strong passions vs unique well roundedness

<p>Im wondering who has a better chance at top schools ( Ivies and others)
Applicant A ( Strong passion in music, math, and science) Asian
Not necessarily extremely good but devotes a lot of time and sticks with activities</p>

<p>Applicant B ( well roundedness; writing, math, science, sports, music debate) Asian</p>

<p>Frankly, I don't think either has a great chance at an ivy. That's because neither is extremely good at at their passion. Ivies get tons of applicants who are passionate, but mediocre. The Ivies also get many well rounded, but not extraordinary applicants.</p>
