Triton Cash vs. Dining Dollars

Hi all,
I’m an incoming freshman at UCSD, and was wondering what people’s thoughts were about which dining plan to choose vs. how much money to put into triton cash. Essentially, my question is the following: would it be best (meaning, would it be cheaper) to choose a dining plan that has the smallest amount of dining dollars available and focus on putting money for food instead into triton cash, or, should one pick a more expensive dining dollar plan and focus less on putting money into the triton cash account? I am aware that triton cash can be used at more locations than dining dollars, but my question is about which would be financially less expensive. Any thoughts or suggestions, though, are of course much appreciated! Thanks.

My recommendation is go with the cheapest plan. You can always add more later if needed.

Ok, thanks. Yeah, I believe my original question was a bit too specific (about which is cheaper). I really should’ve said which way students like more (of either more dining dollars or more triton cash). It makes sense to have fewer dining dollars and more triton cash because of the extra versatility of triton cash, seeing in how they can be used at many more places (including the same ones) that dining dollars can be used at.
