in the appl part 2, the SAT reasoning part.. there are 3x date taken or to be taken, each alongside highest CR, M, W.. for the date taken/to be taken.. do they want the dates of the corresponding highest CR, M, W or the dates of ALL the SAT1 i took.. thanks

I'm assuming that they would want the dates that correspond with each of your highest scores. That is what I entered at least. They'll see ALL of your scores anyway when you send a score report from Collegeboard, so my guess is that they just want you to clarify what date they need to be looking at for each section. Hope that helps

Joe that helps and thanks, and regarding the awards section, should i use different lines for diff awards or just commas?

is it ok to explain a bit about our activites a bit more in the additional info?

"List and succinctly describe the honors and prizes you have been awarded in the last three years."

This would probably be a bit more difficult if you used different lines, as there is a character limit. I used commas in my application and I could still barely squeeze everything on there.

With regard to the additional info.:"Please refrain from submitting additional information."

From what I've gathered form other threads, you really shouldn't explain much in the additional info section unless you feel that it is absolutely necessary to do so. And if you do, then just stick to facts. I'm neither a Columbia student nor an admissions expert, so I really wouldn't be a final authority on that. Hope that helps!

i'm an international here.. so most likely they won't understand my awards.. should i list them there.. and explain about it in the add info section.. i really CANNOT explain them in 300 characters..

I they really do need explaining, then it should be alright. There's no point in listing awards if nobody knows what they actually are. Especially if you deem them to be the MOST important.

i ve emailed the adcom, hoping to get an answer soon..

There should be someone on the admissions staff who is an expert in international students. As long as you are from a country that regularly sends applicants to Columbia, that person will know what the awards mean and how to evluate your transcript.

hm.. i wonder who in my country have gone to Columbia..I don't think there are many if any.. the adcom officer said I could explain about the awards in the add. info
