Trojan Transfer Plan

Does anyone have any experience with the Trojan Transfer Plan? Success stories?

It says that a student could get transferred within the next two or three semesters. Does that mean you can do a summer and a fall semester at CC and actually be at USC by next Spring? Or not until the sophomore year?

Do you still need to go through a normal application process as a transfer, as any regular transfer student would?
Or is there a separate application process for this plan?

Is there a high GPA that must be maintained? Do they cap the number of students that can be admitted at any given semester through this plan?

Can you transfer into Engineering or Business school?

Anyone?

Hey there! I’m actually currently on the Trojan Transfer Plan! Last year when I got rejected I met with a counselor in June and we talked about what courses I would need in order to transfer to USC my sophomore year. Basically, you need to get good grades and have around a 3.6 (my counselor told me a little below a 3.6 is ok) and I should HOPEFULLY be at USC this upcoming school year! You do have to re-apply, I sent in my application in January. I’m waiting to hear back hopefully sometime next month!

@Mick96 Did you go to a community college or are you transferring from another university? Was a 3.6 easy enough to maintain? Please update when you hear from USC!

I’m going to a community college right now. I didn’t want to do my first year at a university because I felt that would be much harder and more expensive, so I chose the community college route since it’s much cheaper and slightly easier. Maintaining a 3.6 is actually a little difficult; however, it also depends on your major and what classes you’re taking. For instance, if someone is taking sociology, history, English and African American studies, they’re more likely to get a 4.0 instead of someone who is taking Calculus, English, Chemistry, etc. USC does look at the rigor of your courses. My first semester I took 17 units and this semester I’m overloading and taking 23 units. Hoping it’ll make me as competitive as possible. I’m REALLY hoping I hear awesome news in around a month/month and a half! Wish me luck! I’ll keep you posted!

Your course load looks very rigorous. Wishing you luck!
