I recently finished my third semester of college. I entered with a major in political science, and after taking an economics course decided that I was really interested in the topic and declared a double major. It is going well and I am very interested in both disciplines. A lot of the people in my economics courses were business majors and after talking to many potential employers many of them were saying that a minor in business would be a very good option for me. I applied and was accepted as a minor and without any issues graduating in four years. Now that I have gotten a bit further along many people are telling me to at least take some classes in computer science or even minor. All of these disciplines are things I’m interested in. How valuable is a minor vs just taking some classes in something? How should I prioritize all of these options. Double major and double minor seems a bit insane, and I’m not ready to do that anyway. I feel overwhelmed. What should I do? I’ve always had many interests but always had trouble narrowing things down and prioritizing some disciplines over others.
