Trouble falling asleep

The past two nights I've been unable to fall asleep until like 1:30. I've been going to bed at my normal time but just kept tossing and turning. The test is tomorrow and I'm really nervous this is going to happen again. I mean, I'm sure its because the SAT is coming up that I'm unable to sleep.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Please!

Read this post on how to induce sleep

oh god, now you're making me paranoid i might not fall asleep :S

I suppose you've tried counting sheep?

I remember this Mr. Bean episode where he uses a calculator to count sheep and then promptly falls asleep. LOL! :)

thank you. I'm going to try some of that. I hope it works.

I didn't sleep one night because I was finishing an assignment (it wasn't that I'd left it until last minute, but I'd actually lost a big chunk of my work, and had a day to complete it) and was able to last the whole next day. So I was up until 6AM doing work and then had to catch the bus.

Don't worry 'bout it. Just say some prayers before you sleep (if you're religious) and snuggle up all nice n' cosy ;)

You probably won't have a normal night's sleep. As long as you're resting, you'll be rested in the morning, whether you're actually asleep for 10 hours or 5. Luckily, the only people who advocate the direct correlation between sleep and scoring well on tests are the people from Jordon's Furniture who want to sell you a $2,000 mattress.

Just don't do anything stupid like take sleeping pills, drinking alcohol. . . hitting yourself with a baseball bat, et cetera.

I don't actually count sheep, I kind of count frogs. I got it from "Up Your Score", but they use it as a concetration excersise. It goes:

One frog--Two eyes--Four legs--in a pond--Kerplunck!
Two frogs--Four eyes--Eight legs--in a pond--Kerplunck, kerplunck!
Three frogs--Six eyes--Twelve legs--in a pond--Kerplunck, kerplunck, kerplunck!

and so on and so forth.

^^Hahahahahaha! That's hilarious! You seriously use that to fall asleep?!?!

haha thats hilarious Butternut :P but requires too much thinking I, it wouldn't work for me lol

Seriously. But I always get the numbers muddled somewhere around thirty frogs... suprisingly, I have yet to dream about frogs. :p

I have an idea.
Grab an AP book and read.

Guarantee you'll be asleep in less than 15 minutes.

Read Thomas Hardy. Puts you to sleep in seconds.

Read a Bible. Will be asleep in no time. Especially the old testamont.

Find a classic book

Start reading

Fall asleep

It's that simple. :p

AHHH guess what happened to me! I slept around 10, normalish-time...then at one point i realized i was in that weird "am I awake or am I asleep?" mode and then i was like "OMG I'M NOT SLEEPING!!" I jumped up and looked at the time, at it was around 2 AM. I couldn't fall back asleep till 3. AND, who knows how long i was in floating in half asleep mode. And now my SAT is in 50 minutes!! wish me luck...

Do some sit-ups (or better yet a jump rope), and you'll be just fine. Maybe by the end of the test it'll feel like a nightmare though. :D
Yeah, and good lick!

^Good l*i*ck? =P

HEY I love Thomas Hardy!

I used to read the Hardy Boys. Loved 'em. :D
