Trouble: I took the SAT I when I was in 8th grade?!

So my mom thought it was beneficial for me to take the SAT I earlier because she heard it somewhere. I didn't realize that the test I took back when I was in 8th grade was real from College Board until recently when I registered to take the January SAT and College Board required me to give in the code from the SAT test I took in 8th grade.

I heard about the Score Choice, and I'm getting scared. I've heard many different stories about how colleges take your SAT scores. Some say that out of all the tests you took, colleges take the highest score from each section and combine it together. For example, let's say that you took a SAT in October and scored a 520 in CR, 710 in math, and 680 in writing, then you took another SAT in December and scored a 640 in CR, 680 in math, and 670 in writing. Do colleges take the 640 - CR from the December SAT and combine it with the 710 math and 680 writing from the October SAT?

Another story I heard was that after your second time taking the SAT, colleges will average all your scores. Is this true?! Cause if it is, does it mean the score I got in 8th grade will be averaged in? :'(

I talked with my guidance counselor and my school's college office about this dilemma and they both told me to not worry because colleges would see the year I took it and disregard the score. But I am still paranoid that it will affect me next year during application process. Is there a way to cancel the scores and make it disappear? I wasn't even ready nor did I know that I was taking a real SAT in 8th grade! I blame my mom for this. :(

Score choice is different from superscoring.

This is superscoring, which most colleges do.

Scores before 9th grade are not included when sending official SAT scores to colleges, so don’t worry.

No…who spreads these kinds of silly ideas…
