trouble on out of state tuition

I was just wondering if anyone knew on average how much financial aid i would receive if i went to an out of state college that costs $21,000 a year.... I already have one sibling in college, and that costs, not counting what she gets in financial aid, $15,000 a year...... My mom only makes 19,500 a year....my dad used to make 42,000 a year but he is now getting 60,000... so i didn't know if that would affect how much financial aid i will get or if having another sibling in college means i could get more.. or since it is out of state... thanks

Going to a public university unless you are attending an honors program that has merit money attached to it, I don't think that you should wrap your mind around getting a lot of money from the school as their mission is to first provide a reasonably affordable education for their residents. You will fill out the FAFSA which will give you your EFC but I beleive that the bulk of your aid will come in the form of loans.

My son is going to an out of state public school, and he received only loans and work study in his financial aid offer, and even that was far short of EFC. He was able to add some merit aid, after appealing to his department head, but not a lot.
