hello, I'm currently a junior in high school...
I'm a foreign student and this is my 3rd year in america.
as ap exams approach, I'm starting to regret taking ap us history class in my school - I was just interested in learning about this country, and I didn't expect how tough this would be lol. :P
my multiple choice skill is pretty decent, I've never gotten below 68/80...
BUT since my english is not perfect, I'm having a LOTof difficulties with writing dbqs and frq :(
when I recieve the prompts, my head goes totally blank.
I don't know how to from thesis... I don't know where to start.
sometimes I don't even understand the questions :[
plus, I always run out of time trying to form a single sentence.
the best score I got in class on essay was 5 (which was really lucky),
and I usually can't even finish three paragraphs... my average essay score is 3 -.-
for dbq's, it is really hard for me to analyze what the documents mean :(((
is there any way to improve my writing skill before the exam? - it's probably too late tho lol
any tips? thank you!!

Maybe you could ask your teacher or an older tutor who’s good at the subject to walk you through a few dbq’s and frq’s. Just sit down with them and have them ask you questions about the documents and the essay and come up with ideas and have them help you write a few example essays. Just use the second person to help you get your mind thinking about the prompt and working clearly. Then, practice on your own, this time, timed and without any help. Have your teacher grade the essay, then ask them what you you could do to improve it. You might be able to pick up some strategies from people who are good at the essays. Good luck, work hard, ask questions and you’ll do fine :)
