troubling story about SUNY in today's Binghamton paper

apparently it is getting harder to get courses and therefore graduate on time. worrisome!

With enrollment increases at SUNY, getting into classes becomes more challenging | pressconnects.com | Press & Sun-Bulletin

not necessarily surprising given what has been discussed elsewhere on CC, but still very disconcerting for those considering SUNY-B and who want to graduate on time…

or really any of the the other SUNY schools. I have heard about this problem from current SUNY students. As a SUNY alum it is very upsetting to me and one of the reasons I may not be sending my D to a SUNY school if she gets enough merit to go private.

In the article it is clear that Geneseo is reducing its incomming freshman class by 75 in order to protect the quality of the education provided. Considering the school is going to lose tuition revenue this really impressed me.

Some of the SUNYs may try to profit over the increased interest in their campuses by accepting more and more students with less resources.

Not all of the SUNYs operate the same way.

Thanks for posting that.
At this point Geneseo is our number 1…
fatherLI…have u been to Geneseo…???

Yes. I have been to a few of the SUNYs during our college tour road trips. Geneseo was by far our favorite!

awesome fatherli…Im in Long island too!!
