This is the Princeton Review's ranking for NYU with the different categories. Any opinion on this? Is this true? Is this complete crap?
Oh, and I was reading "Pot Culture" and it said that NYU smokes a lot of chronic. I'm from west coast so I'd love that, i'd make me more comfortable. Anyways, let meh know.

14 Dodgeball Targets - True I guess. We have other things to worry about than dodgeball.

3 Gay Community Accepted - I’m surprised we’re not #1.

2 Great College Towns - Also surprised we’re not #1.

15 Intercollegiate Sports Unpopular or Nonexistent - True. I think we have a good basketball and volleyball team… but I only know because I see them practicing while I’m at the gym.

13 Least Happy Students - I’m happy. All my friends are happy. This might be true because for the most part NYU kids are pretty serious, opinionated, political, and sometimes cynical - all of which might contribute to some sort of “unhappy” facade. But I think it’s kinda ********. It’s hard to live in NYC and not be happy.

6 Long Lines and Red Tape - Pretty true. You have to be pretty independent and self motivated to get things done… but welcome to the real world.

6 Nobody Plays Intramural Sports - True.

13 Least Accessible Professors - False. Mine have been very accessible. They respond to emails almost always within the hour you send it.

1 Students Dissatisfied with Financial Aid - Veerrrrry true.

The sports and aid part is probably true, but overall, Princeton Review is full of crap.

what about the chronic part?

does NYU got the chronic?

dude. what college doesn’t. of course NYU does. chronic and whatever else you want.

okay, yeah i realize that every campus does, but i mean, do a lot of people smoke, or will i be the random that does? There is a difference. You know?

anyone? i’d be useful to know.

3 Gay Community Accepted- yayyy

2 Great College Towns- I’m surprised we weren’t listed lower, actually. I love going to school in the city, but it isn’t seen as a “typical” college town. So yayyy for thinking out of the box.

15 Intercollegiate Sports Unpopular or Nonexistent- My immediate reaction was that intercollegiate sports at NYU are non-existent, but you have to realize that it’s such a huge school, and students are much too lazy to take a subway to get to the gym for an event. Sports aren’t popular, but if you’re involved with Greek Life, are on a sport team, or are on the dance/cheer-leading team, sports will probably be a big part of your college experience. It just depends on what “crowd” you associate yourself with, and whether or not you put the effort into going to sporting events.

13 Least Happy Students- Here’s the deal. I feel as though because NYU is seen as the #1 “Dream School,” students come into NYU expecting to have the most amazing experience because they are going to school in NYC. I think NYU has disappointed students because they come in with higher expectations than students who go to other universities. Because students come to NYU expecting soooo much, they continue to complain about the university, thus making more and more students dissatisfied.

6 Long Lines and Red Tape- Fact. It’s a big school. Most of the administrative offices I’ve had to deal with are horrible.

6 Nobody Plays Intramural Sports- Most of the people I know play intramural sports. I play an intramural sport. If you want to play one, go to Coles and join a team. You won’t see fliers around ‘campus,’ but if you get involved, you’ll see that there are people who play sports here.

13 Least Accessible Professors- All of my professors have been accessible, prompt, and extremely helpful. I don’t know where this ranking is coming from. I rarely hear people complain about the inaccessibility of their professors because teachers here generally check their e-mail like it’s their job (because it is).

1 Students Dissatisfied with Financial Aid- I agree. I don’t have an explanation for this, financial aid sucks.

A lot of people smoke.
