true?

is it true that cornell interviews are purely informational and evaluative, thats what the admissions lady told me

i had my interview, it was 2 hrs, and it was pretty solid

but when he came in, he was off balance, and we freaking messed up the hand shake

but he seemed to be cool tho, this is so weird i usually never care about little things like this

im still alright, right?

If it wasn't a hotel or AAP interview, then I think your interview has practically no bearing on your admission. Unless you threw an egg at your interviewer or something, of course.

I've heard that these interviews are to get you interested in the school more than anything. Don't worry about your handshake. I was 15 minutes late to my interview, but I got in all right.

yeah it's true they're just to inform you about the school. unless your AAP, Hotel, or possibly a transfer, there is no weight on the interview.

thats the case infact with most of the schools. interviews are highly informal TALKS that take place just to have a feel of the real applicant's character and nature and to spread the univ's news ..

SM

I just had my Cornell interview, and the interviewer said that it's basically an informal discussion about Cornell and anything you want to say that you forgot to on your application. They just write up a one page response on what went on during the discussion, and include some small details on your interests, goals, etc. if you wanted to mention anything extra.

not even a page, more like a couple paragraphs.

yeah cornell's is different in that it's not evaluative. while most interviews are for the college to feel you out, at least in part, cornell's interview is to let you, the applicant, feel the college out.
