There seems to be a lingering problem on CC that causes posts to be truncated especially when using the quotation feature or simply when cutting/pasting text.

If it happened to you, please add your name to this thread and links to the posts where it has happened.

I don't think I can be bothered to go locate the link, but it was one of the early responses to the thread about the the 100 best modern books published by Time magazine. I was pasting from a Word document. I've never had a problem before or since. At least not on my end. I received a PM that was cut-off recently and had to ask to be sent an email.

It's happened to me several times, and it's very frustrating. I had to repost this thread three times before it went through properly. Accents seem to be causing problems on a regular basis, but sometimes it's much more random.

It's happened to me but I also don't remember the thread. It also happened when I was doing a PM. I thought it was me, but after reading the numerous instances where it happened to others, I no longer think so.

It has happened to me a number of times and it does seem to occur with longer posts and especially with quotations. I have had to hit the "back" arrow , copy the entire content of my post as I was composing it, hit the "forward" arrow and then "edit" my truncated post by copy/pasting the full entry and saving it.

It happened to me when I answered a post titled Lost Dreams, or something like that. Since I post only rarely, it's easier for me to draft in Word and then cut and paste. Took me a couple of times for the post to stick, and I thought it was me.

The probelms I've had lately is that I'll write a reply and hit 'send' but it won't go through. It tells me I need to "refresh" the page or something of that sort. But I can't do that without losing the post I just wrote.

It's happened to me too, when I tried to copy and paste a long post that had written in a word doc...I had to copy it paragraph by paragraph, and then it worked, but it was a major hassle!

Ditto what b said, only it wasn't a word doc. It was just lines of text from an e-mail I was trying to quote. I kept deleting and reposting . I finally had to type the last paragraph in by hand.

I have found it happens when certain characters are used within a quote -- any sort of formatting code (such as trying to use bold or italics), or an apostrophe.

Me too, trucated at first quotation mark when copying a long post from Word. Most recent episodes were trip reports (in Parents Forum) to USanDiego and UPacific. I was able to "solve" this problem by using the EDIT function and copying in the trucated part. This works for me even if the trucated part contains quotation marks. [Note: My CC browser is MS Internet Explorer. My AOL browser won't permit me to log into CC.]

It happens most often when I cut and paste from other sources within a quote. Re-typing the same text usually alleviates the problem. I attribute it to embedded hidden characters.
