Is there something wrong with the Trusler dorms? There are so many of them remaining... especially doubles in comparison to the other dorms.

I think it’s because Trusler is used for the Living Learning Community, so they might reserve all that space for people that are interested in it. Just a guess.

Well… since there are slots… do I have to join the program to room there?

Thanks.

Not necessarily.

I think everyone thinks it’s only for the program, but anyone can live there and choose to participate in the Leader Scholar program or not. You don’t even have to apply to it, it’s just there for your advantage :)

There are a lot of spaces open in Trusler because it is a completely freshman residence hall. Only freshman are allowed to live there. Each floor has a RA and a peer mentor. The RA does all the housing stuff and the peer mentor handles the leader/scholar program. The leader/scholar program is completely optional, meaning you don’t have to participate if you live there. The program is really easy and fun: attend a few programs throughout the year put on by the RAs and peer mentors and, if you meet the requirements, you’ll graduate from the program at the end. The residence hall itself is very clean, right next to the west campus pool, tennis courts, a short walk from the dining hall and student union, has a convenience store right downstairs, and a nice common area and study space. I lived there last year and I highly recommend it.
