I applied for the Trustee Scholarship and I have a few questions that I can't find the answer to on the colleges website. Does anybody know when they notify the winners? Also do they notify people who aren't awarded the scholarship? Has anybody heard anything?

The notifications are going out prior to the end of the month. I don’t know if both accepted and denied applicants will be notified simultaneously or not. You should email your admissions rep with that question. They usually respond to their emails within 24 hrs.

Sompi1,
I live in Geneva, have two parents who work at the college, and my sister attends. I have applied. Yesterday, I was in the admissions office talking to some of the counselors (I had brought in a friend who was interested in a tour). They told us that the trustee scholarship winner letters were being mailed this Wednesday, as in tomorrow, 2-22-12. As for non recipients, they said that they get out admission letters about a week before April 1st. Hope this helped.

My D applied ED and was accepted. She also found out that she will receive a Trustee Scholarship. While we’re very happy, we thought that she would receive a Faculty Scholarship as well, since the qualifications for those seem less stringent than for the Trustee. In fact, we were lead to believe that would be the case. Have others received both? If so, were you notified of both at the time of acceiptance? We hate to sound ungrateful, but this is child #5 going to college …

Hi ehlb1234, congratulations to your D. My S is also applying ED but we have heard nothing from HWS colleges. Did they send out the notification by mail or email?

ehlb1234, Congrats on your D’s admission and Trustee award. Congrats on raising a kid who knows what she wants enough to apply ED! I understand where you’re coming from. Last year my D1 was in a similar spot–lead to beleive (we misunderstood really) about the leagacy award and admission process. I felt the same way, not wanting to sound greedy and, at the same time, desparetely trying to forecast 4 years of tutition. If I had to do it over again, I’d start the $$$$ conversation early. I’d call them directly, today, now. I learned this the hard way. Honestly, no other school’s admissions team was as professional/responsive/enthuisatic as HWS. The FinAid office was a bit slower… Good luck.
