does anyone know the typical stats of a trustee or presidential scholarship winner??

anybody?
hows the interview??

My cousin was awarded one of those scholarships, I'm not sure which one, he had a 4.0 gpa, 1580 SAT, tons of ECs, including President of the Latin club, National Merit Semi-finalist. I don't really know what it takes as I'm hoping to get an interview for a scholarship this year.

was the 1580 the highest combined, or the highest from one sitting??
well good luck to u jessetfan-im REALLY hoping to get one too!

That was the highest from one sitting, his first and last. He had a perfect math score and a 780 in English. I didn't do as well as he did, but my SAT score is still pretty reasonable, 1500, 790 English, 710 math, and three SATIIs all over 700. I don't know whether or not I'm going to hear anything, but someone I talked to at USC said she thinks I have a good chance. Good luck.

yeah i think u have a good chance too.
i hope i do too-1530 highest sitting, but 1580 highest combined, 800 writing, 740 math 2c, 740 chem, 3.95 uw, semi-finalist (hoping for finalist soon)
do u think so?? ahhh nervous

I don't know their averages, I just know what he had. I'm in the same boat with you on National Merit, do you know when we find out? I think you probably have a good chance, I'm no expert though. I guess we'll be seeing in the near future. Good luck, hopefully I'll get to meet you at the scholarship interviews. Is there any way to check admissions status online for USC?

is this all score based? do they include EC's and other stuff etc?? if i have 1470 is that good enough?

hey jessetfan, i think we find out if we make finalist in early february. and we cant check our status online. well good luck to u once again, and ill tell u if i get a scholarship interview (hopefully!).

kingroger, its probably not all score based, but i think scores are supposed to be in the top 1-2%. good luck to u.

When they say scores must be in the top 1-2%, does that mean 1-2% in EACH category (math and verbal), or for the combined score?

I'm asking this because I got a 1510 on the sat, a 780 in math (which is 99th percentile) but a 730 in verbal (which is 97th percentile). Would I even initially qualify for the full scholarship?

bluevelvet, yeah i think so. i dont even think usc's gonna check our percentiles, one bcuz they dont have them!!! theyre probably just gonna guestimate.

I'm assuming I have little to no chance whatsoever for President and Trustee Scholarships because of my SAT scores...1410 (710V, 700M)...but I have a 4.0GPA UW, 4.6GPA W, and rank 8/423...I also have good ECs...does that count too...or are my scores too low...even a dean's scholarship would be helpful...and overall I think it said I was in the top 5% for scores...I just don't know...anyone?

hey cboryca22, if dean's is good enough for u (i need more!!!), then i think u have a pretty good chance bcuz of your 4.0 UW and good ECs. good luck though.

the problem is...it really isn't good enough...I seriously need money. No chance of the other ones though...right? :(

cboryca22, i cant really say if u have a chance for the "other ones," cuz even im not sure i will be invited to interview for the president's or trustee's, and i have a 1580 or 1530 SAT (depending on how u count it) and a 3.95 UW (im not sure what the weighted is according to USC) and i am a nat'l merit semifinalist (prolly finalist by now). but good luck anyway!
