Gracias...and be honest, I can take it!!!

You stand a great shot. ECs are very good for in-school, but there's not a 'lock' activity to set you apart. I could see you getting in by taking on the rural edge, but you never know. I'll give you 50% chance.

Are you good enough to be recruited?

IMO, you stand a good chance, especially since you're involved in sports. If you plan on continuing in sports in college, have you interviewed with one of the coaches? That could help...

No, I am not good enough to be recruited, unfortunately...

anyone else...oh and just to be completely fair, by SAT score is superscored from 2 sittings, and on I got a 640 on the writing section once (a 760 the other)? Don't know how much of a negative that is.

Not too big of a deal - the writing section is still very new and the fact that you did eventually get a high score on it means that they won't think it's a weakness (at the very worst an inconsistency.) "They", of course, being the all-important admissions office...

Collegebound, I think you stand a chance; however, remember that these Ivy schools are highly competitive - and it helps alot if you have something "special", something that sets you apart from everyone else. For example, my D's classmate had all the academic qualifications, just like many other applicants (i.e., great gpa/rank/decent scores/challenging courses) and she was also a top athlete. She interviewed twice w/a coach and was offered a partial scholarship. Not only is she bright, but she had what they needed to support their team's endeavors....Princeton really wanted her!

So, I would think that the same is true if a student did some sort of independent, academic research; participated in national competitions (e.g., Intel). You really have to prove yourself to be beyond the norm. And the "norm" is quite high in a place like Princeton. Be sure you have 1 -2 backup schools, too. If not Princeton, maybe you'll get a full scholarship elsewhere...Good luck! You're a very promising student.

I've seen you in other forums. If I were you, I'd apply to many high tiered schools. You don't have any jaw dropping EC's so I wouldn't say it's a guarantee, but you have the non-token positions colleges seem to like (sports captain, internship). Just go for it, there's no reason not to.

Less than 160 people in school, and I am at the top of my class, it is just I am not sure how they report rank so I put 10% just to be safe. My school is not extremely competetive, but all the kids do go to college. And I am from one of the killer states listed above, but my county and region is not like the the rest of the state, it is very rural and farmy, and I don't think anyone really from my county and surronding county goes/has gone to top top schools. And know one else from my school will be appyling to Princeton, (I might be the first ever). My rural county will most likely be the backround of my esssys, becuase I am involoved in farming, and 4-H.

hey there! I'm a princeton student and I could help you out with your essay if you want. You look strong but you're going to need a really awesome essay.
