Try to change majors or stay at my jc for one more year? Need answer soon

Hello, I just recently transferred to UCSD from a CCC as an engineer major. But I was accepted as a Structural engineer while the major I truly want is Mechanical engineering. I have a couple of choices but don't know which would be the best for my situation.
1. I could completely leave UCSD and go to my cc for another year, receive my AS in engineering and then try and transfer.
2. I could go to UCSD and after a year attempt to change majors.
or
3. Attempt to call the other colleges to allow me to take courses at UCSD and only transfer the courses from my CC that contribute to my major requirement.
or if there is any other ideas could you please leave me a comment below.

As UCSD allows an alternate major in engineering when you apply, you should talk to the department. Assuming you excel at UCSD you may be able to transfer. This is just conjecture, but it would be my first line of attack.

I tried that, I applied as a Mechanical for my major intent and my alternative was Structural, so they accepted me but only as a Structural engineer. I didn’t realize that I only needed 21 more units to get my A.S. and possibly transfer to a different college as a Mechanical engineer until now.

As someone who is facing the difficulty of trying to switch majors/add another major at a different school, I would probably stay another year, finish everything and apply for MechE. But at the same time, there’s no certainty with that either.

Don’t worry about the AS though.
