I'm taking econ 101 right now and im not sure whether I should just try to get a C or fail and get a better grade next quarter retaking it. What do you guys think? Is getting a C better or getting a better grade next time? I don't mind because I am not behind in my major, my main concern is gpa >.<. Thanks in advance for your input.

i tihnk you can repeat a class if you have a c- or lower. if you're just looking at it from a GPA perspective, if you retake a class your previous grade wont count, so you will end up with a higher GPA if you get a c-/fail right now

I read somewhere that they average your grade in certain circumstances, any one know the specifics?

afaik, if its an unapproved repeat ie you retake physics 1A after youve already taken 1B. both grades for 1A will count

I am going to pay a visit to one of those ASK booths around campus when I have the time and find out all the specifics on dropping classes and what not, then I'll report back perhaps.
