Trying to contact AO unsuccessfully.

My son is waitlisted to his top choice HADES school. We tried to contact the AO who interviewed my son unsuccessfully. It always goes to the answering machine...anyone face a similar problem...

Many schools are on break now. Try email in case AO has Blackberry…

Depending on the school, the AO is likely to be out for at least a week, maybe two.

If you have a question, put it in an email, but don’t count on a quick response. (You may get one, but you likely won’t.) If you or your son has something to say, either put it on paper or put it in an email and send it. It’ll get read when the AO returns.

It’s spring break. Many of them are taking vacation or just getting caught up with all the work that didn’t get done while they were reading applications and choosing candidates. And I can pretty much guarantee everyone is calling to get information (especially if they’re reading these boards). So if you’re waitlisted - send a letter and follow up later with an email. If you’re rejected, wait until after the contracts are in and they have a breather.

It’s frustrating, I know, but understandable when you realize you may be one of hundreds trying the same strategy.

The posters above have it right. THink about it from the AO’s view. THey are exhausted after a huge effort. Now the school is on break. And everybody who didn’t get in wants to know why. And everybody who got waitlisted wants to know what to do.
The answering machine may well be full by now and the email box overflowing. Wait a bit, think about things , then send an email.

Interesting: when I wrote (politely) to our AO at one school to advise him to please take us OFF the waitlist as we had other acceptances and wouldn’t pursue WL, I got a very polite & encouraging email back from him (while on vacation) within 24 hours…

Thanks a lot for all the responses. We left a message on his voice mail. We will send a letter as well and hope for the best. Thanks.

email. email. email.

SevenDad, Thanks. We will send a email.

thanks for pointing out the obvious EXieMit!
