Trying to Decide Between Southern Methodist University and Trinity College Dublin for Business & CS

While this is a rather unique question, I would love any help or wisdom you may have. I am a High School senior from a small college town in the US and I am having a very hard time deciding between these two very different Universities. I have visited both and loved both of them, I probably liked the campus at Trinity better, but I am very interested by the job placement at SMU. I have been admitted to the Computer Science and Business course at Trinity, and accepted Business direct with a $25,000 a year scholarship to SMU where I would study Finance and Computer Science double major. With the scholarship, the two places would be basically the same cost.

Where do you guys think I should go and why?

Trinity. If you would have said Texas A&M or UT Austin, then there is more competition between them, but SMU and TCD? Trinity any day. I am a little bias though haha. Where did you decide to go?

There are a lot of Fortune 50 companies in Dallas. Not so many in Dublin.

SMU’s job placement is pretty phenomenal. My son graduated 2 years ago from Cox and is working at a top investment bank. His friends all got great jobs right out of college too. The alumni network and career help in the US for Trinity will be negligible. For job prospects, SMU hands down.

That said, the educational and life experience value of living in another country is also phenomenal. When else will you have a chance to live in Ireland?

Only you can weigh the two.

Oops, having typed all this out I see the OP will have decided by now! What a great choice!

@FinAndCSSenior : since several people seem interested and for future students, would you mind telling us what you decided and how you made that decision? Thanks! ?
