was accepted to both George Washington and Northeastern and I’m trying to decide between the two. I plan to study history and political science. I know that GW may be better for my major but I’ve heard that the students there are also very political and I really don’t want politics to bleed into every aspect of my experience. I really like the Northeastern Coop program and I like the idea of having a major that is more my own. I’ve also thought about the fact that I can attend graduate school in DC. I know that Northeastern is a slightly bigger name and to be honest that does appeal to me. I think I like Northeastern better, but would it be crazy not to go to DC with my intended major? Also NU offered less scholarship and would end up costing more. What do you think?
Objectively? GW is a bigger name than NEU for politics, and the benefits of being in DC with the internship opportunities year round imo easily “offsets” the co-op program. On what you want to study, GW is objectively better. Subjectively, it sounds like you don’t want to go to GW. Fit is important and you need to be happy where you will be for the next 4 years. If that’s NEU then, finances permitting, go there.
