Currently a HS senior located in CT. Go to a good high school and from a high income town. I love Dartmouth but the thought of ED scares me. Trying to figure out if I even have a chance applying regular, or if my only chance is ED.
GPA- 4.6 weighted, 3.9 unweighted
ACT- 33
SAT subject tests- 720 Chem, 780 Math 2
APs- Have taken 4 so far with 2 5s and 2 4s. Taking 5 this year (including physics and calc BC)
-I think my letters of rec will be very strong, I have good relationships with the teachers I asked
Extracurriculars: I have a lot of work experience, as well as leadership opportunities. I have chosen to be very involved in 4 or 5 extracurriculars instead of slightly involved in a ton. Those show with my title in those extracurriculars.
Also want to know what affect other people applying from my school will have on my acceptance?
The only information I can provide is that, from my son’s nondescript high school, the year he got accepted to Dartmouth, someone else did too, and in fact they both attend now. The other boy was recruited for football, and my son applied RD, and there you have it. So having others apply from your school is certainly not a death knell in terms of acceptance.
@rme12345 it is easy. If Dartmouth is your absolute first choice and you would pick it over any other school then ED is for you. If this is not the case then do not apply ED. If so try a SCEA or EA school for early in order to take as rage of the early application process. With SCEA or EA you are not obligated to attend if admitted.
What’s your race? Does you school rank? If so , what is your rank? Do you have any hooks like legacy, or first generation or recruited athlete? What are your other choices? What major are you interested in?
