Hi all,

I'm trying to make a decision on very short notice about which school to go to for my Masters, and I need all the help I can get!! Please let me know your frank opinion.

I have been accepted to the Fletcher school (with a $6000 scholarship, not much), King's College London (Department of War Studies, MA International Relations), SOAS (Centre for Int'l Studies and Diplomacy, MA International Studies and Diplomacy), and the Monterey Institute (MA International Policy Studies).

At this point I have narrowed it down to Fletcher vs. King's College London, with SOAS as a distant third. This is a really huge dilemma for me, as I think the program offered at Fletcher is amazing, and is ideally what I am looking for but there are a number of reasons not to go: it's a total cost of $60,000 tuition vs. $20,000 at King's College (and I plan to work in the NGO field with refugees, so I'm hardly going to make a lot of money anyways), I'd much rather live in London than Boston, my boyfriend will be living in London (and we are in a serious relationship), and I have a free apartment to live in in central London. However, the actual program offered at Fletcher is pretty ideal in terms of my academic interests, and seems to be regarded as very prestigious if I ever wanted to work at UNHCR or some such place.

From what I understand, the program at King's College is probably the 2nd best in the UK for IR, after LSE, but if anyone out there knows more, feel free to correct me. I'm having a really hard time finding out information about King's or SOAS online. I do like the program offered at King's (though not as much as Fletcher), but I'm slightly concerned about it being part of the War Studies department-- I still have some doubts about how suitable that is for NGO work. But I'd rather work in Europe than the US, so it seems to also make more sense to go to London.

As you can see, I'm really conflicted. Any opinions or thoughts on either King's or Fletcher would be very appreciated...or just straight up advice! The deadline to respond to Fletcher is this Monday.

Thanks
