Hello! I am currently trying to decide between 5 schools that I got accepted:
Georgetown, UCLA, Swarthmore, Brown and Northwestern.
The program I am interested in Georgetown is Science, Technology and International Affairs. In the other schools, I’ll probably take the biology track + will minor in sth creative (music, creative writing, visual art). How is Georgetown in research??
my counsellor tells me that I’d LOVE Georgetown, so i am kind of biased…
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD HELP ME BY WRITING YOUR OPINIONS!!! I have until the 1st of May so…
thank you deeply!!!
Congratulations on getting into all these colleges! If you don’t mine me asking, what were your stats? Northwestern has a lot of research opportunities, though if you can try to visit and see which campus you prefer.
WOW, congratulations on all your acceptances! You have excellent choices.
What is it you are looking for in terms of research? Are you looking to work in a lab yourself? You should ask the school what the opportunities are for undergrads to get lab jobs.
In terms of what kind of research, each school may have a link you can look up the types of research going on.
Here’s a link to the Georgetown Biology research page: http://biology.georgetown.edu/research/mcb
I posted the link to the molecular and cellular biology, but you can see on the left side that you can look at other subjects as well.
What’s your parents ’ budget and what’s the net price at each ? (you find net price by adding tuition, fees, room, and board, and subtracting any Grant or scholarship, but not loans.)
Have you visited any of them? My kid’s counselor was not a good judge of what she would like…
