Hi everybody :) I've been reading these forums for a few months now, but didn't post until, well, now.

I'm a Korean girl w/ American citizenship, lived all over the world (currently in the Middle East), so I'm not sure if I'm international or not. My stats aren't too great, and I'm trying to create a solid list of colleges without aiming too high.

I'm studying towards the IB diploma. Courses:
English A1 HL
French B HL
History HL
Physics SL
Math SL
Korean A1 SL

GPA: 3.5~
SAT:
Verbal: 680
Math: 630
Writing: 670

Activities:
Participated in several school plays
Tennis team
Yearbook
Band

My dream school is Boston University, but I don't really think I'll get in.
Any suggestion for other schools (preferably located in urban area) I should apply to?

I suggest you change one of your foreign language classes to another science course (e.g. Chemistry or Biology), preferably at HL. That will greatly improve your application. In addition, you’ll also need to raise your SAT scores.

If you are an American citizen (i.e. a U.S passport holder), I don’t think you qualify as an international student, even if you live overseas. I’m not sure about that though. You should check it directly with the admissions office of the schools you are interested in applying to.

What about Boston U makes it your favorite? I think you have a good shot at getting in there. Plus, BU has this program [College of General Studies | Schools & Colleges | Academics | Boston University](http://www.bu.edu/academics/schools-colleges/cgs/index.html) which I believe is for people who don’t qualify for regular acceptance but show promise (somebody correct me if I’m wrong).

You might also check out Northeastern University, DePaul University, Loyola U of Chicago, American U., Fordham, St. Louis U., Marquette, U of Minnesota, U of Washington, U of San Francisco.
