Trying to figure out what is a reach for me.

I have a 3.6 unweighted at a public high school that doesn't do class rankings, but is considered competitive and the like, and I took all AP/Honors classes where offered.

My SAT and ACT scores are 2100 and 33, respectively, and I am using the latter when possible because its a much better percentile score. My AP scores are all 4s and 5s. I'm also a National Merit (at least) semifinalist.

I'm my high school's star oboe player, I'm a varsity swimmer, I've done two volunteer service trips to Uganda, and I'm in a bunch of other random clubs, in which I have a few leadership positions.

I plan on majoring in some sort of social science, and have already applied to Colorado College (I like the block scheduling and the location) and McGill (mostly on a whim just because its relatively cheap and Montreal apparently is awesome).

I'm confident in my essay writing abilities and such, but in deciding other schools to apply to I'm concerned about my GPA. I'm probably going to apply to Macalester, UW Madison, and Brown, but beyond that I don't know. Is it worth it for me to apply to the most selective Ivy League-quality universities?

This is a bump.

If it helps, I'm a white male. And when I say "most selective Ivy League-quality" I don't mean Harvard, but I do mean, say, Washington University in St Louis, Standford, etc or maybe like USC.

Sgerat, your ACT is excellent and you are in at Colorado College and UW. Good chances at Mac. I think your best bet might be USC out of that group. Stanford and Washington U have such low acceptance rates (not that USC is high but at least it is somewhat higher) and you are already applying to Brown anyway. It looks like most of your schools have somewhat of a more liberal environment. Here is a list of some other schools which would fall into that group: Middlebury, Emory, Michigan, Grinnell, Kenyon and Conneticut College. Some are more reachier than others, but I think you would stand a good chance at many of these. Good luck!
