Hey everyone,
I’m currently a junior right now. Last year I took AP Calc BC as a sophomore, but then entered a college dual-enrollment program that wouldn’t let me go right into Calc III/Linear Algebra. Instead, I’m going to have to wait til next year to take them with everyone else in the program. Is there a way I can learn MVC/Linear online and have a way to verify it without having to break into my bank? I’ve already been doing multi-variable online through MIT OCW, but as far as I know, there is no way to verify that you’ve learned all the content within it, without having to pay for something like CTY or an online college course. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Will the college allow you to do a placement test? And have you talked to your guidance counselor about this?
Why do you want to take MVC now if you can do it next year? You can take a different math course online, like discrete math
Does your school offer AP Stats? That’s different and sort of parallel to the calc - Linear A - multivar path.
I’m in a similar situation. Taking AP Calc BC as a junior, already self-studied and took AP Stats and AP CS exams (the other math APs at my school), as well as an admittedly watered-down discrete math course through my local university. I’d also like to hear about online courses in calc III and/or linear algebra.
