<p>I'm trying to look for this thread where harvard applicant created fake bragsheet and "accidentally" sent it in, while people from her school took apart her resume line by line. Then, she wrote a long but terribly written apology letter on CC (like it does anything), and then the thread got locked.</p>
<p>I can't seem to find it. If anyone can relocate it, we can all use some laughs!</p>

<p>What an excellent example of why not to lie on one's college apps.</p>
<p>The lies that the poster admitted to were basically making up very minor offices that would not be impressive enough to boost her into a top college. In fact, the string of very minor offices that she claimed only served to highlight the fact that there she had no major ECs. </p>
<p>Should the colleges, however, learn that she put even minor lies in her application, that would be enough to keep her out of consideration of many private colleges (even some mediocre ones) in the U.S.</p>
<p>Lies that are big enough to impress top college (for instance lying abuot attending RSI or being the national president of a large student organization) would be easily discovered, and consequently would put the applicant at higher than normal risk of being an automatic reject or, if accepted to a top college, of being kicked out or losing their college degree if the lie ever is discovered.</p>
