Trying to find some schools

Hey everyone I'm new here ( I've been reading on here for awhile though). Anyway I'm looking for a solid safety, match and reach schools and not really sure what to think. Here are my stats
Top 40%
Big Texas public high school
Uw GPA of 3.2
Weighted GPA is probably around 3.6 or higher
ACT 25 ( only taken it once)
80 volunteer hours
8 AP classes by graduation

Obviously I am not a wunderkind like 99% of the cc population haha so I am just looking for some realistic possibilities. Thanks!

What are your possible majors? Are you interested in a small, medium, or large sized university?

try answering the questions in the post at the top of this page:

<a href=“Before you ask which colleges to apply to, please consider - College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1621234-before-you-ask-which-colleges-to-apply-to-please-consider-p1.html</a></p>

and then get back to us with the info.

@jkeil911‌ haha I wish I would have read that before !
Looking to spend a max of 30k per year for everything. Only preference I have on location is I would prefer not to be in the boonies, near a big city would be ideal. Looking to major in finance or economics most likely.
@‌ mominwis
I would prefer a bigger school but I maint just don’t want to go to a small school

@MOMINWIS‌

Bump

You’ll have to check these against the net price calculators because telling me you’d like to spend 30K is not enough info to find out what you’d have to pay at a particular school. You need to enter your family’s financial info into the npc to see what your Expected Family Contribution EFC is at any particular school.

I suggest you run a SuperMatch and play around with the options. The schools that come to mind for me are Marquette, Catholic, CUNY Baruch, Michigan State, Texas Tech, SUNY Buffalo, UT San Antonio, UAlabama, West Virginia, San Jose State, and one of my favorite schools, University of Northern Colorado.

As of right now I plan on applying to UT-Austin and worst case scenario I’m hoping I at least get CAP and them just go to UT-Arlingtom for a year

Last bump

North Texas comes to mind - relatively close to DFW area. University of Houston a possibility as well. UTSA is up and coming.

UNT, TexState, UTSA, OSU

UTSA and TStste are wayyyy to close to my home. That seems to be the 2 place where most kids from my school go to (and Tech). Would I have a reasonable chance at UT and or A&M

Probably a bit of a reach on both- You can certainly apply and see what they say.- Oklahoma State is in your wheelhouse as far as what you want and getting admitted, but it will involve OOS tuition. If you can get your ACT score up a bit you might get some aid there and find it not as expensive as some private schools…Their tuition is one of the more reasonable in the area. UT Arlington is okay, but I get the impression you would be happier at UNT over that. (Big School, big sports, big events, etc.)

@stanatedj‌ only reason I would go to UT Arlington would be if I got CAPed which means I spend a year at a satellite campus and get a 3.2 GPA and then get into UT Austin automatically
Oklahoma State isn’t my cup of tea, I would like to be near an urban area also near a coast

Near a coast? A&M galv or Corp C? I don’t see you getting into A&M or UT as a freshman. Maybe you should visit UNT? Denton has a great college town vibe and is close to Dallas/FW for the urban touch.

@mytwods‌ l should have clarified I meant West or East coast! (Besides texas)
