Trying to find the correct watch

I usually look at a digital watch that starts 0 sec and goes up. The watch i have right now is a timex that makes a small beep when you start the timer and a beep when you end it. The proctor didn't let me use the timer function the last time because of the sound and i was sort of screwed because of that. I am trying to find a solution to this problem...maybe a watch that doesn't make any sounds. What do you guys use on the test?

just cough when you start and stop. The beep is usually quiet so you can drown it out with other noise. either that or put it against your stomach when you start it. I can guarantee you that it will be hard to find a digital timer/watch that lacks the beep. it is easier to just conceal it.

Personally, I use a analog watch. Set the clock to however minutes before twelve. i.e. (start at 11:15 for english (45 mins to twelve), 11:00 for math (60 mins to twelve), and 11:25 for reading and science (35 mins to twelve) and that keeps me in time and tells me how many mins I have left.

yeah I do the same thing as Killersdeat but I use a digital watch so to know the time exactly

All rooms should have a timer at the front of the room. I hear some students take these tests in a gym, so they can see the milliseconds go by on the basketball scoreboard as they frantically try to decide between 2 answers or work out a math problem.

Thanks for the idea! appreciate it.

my dad's oakley watch (it's like an oakley sports watch) has no beep....but it's probably pretty expensive. it's nice cuz it has lap times so i can see if i'm taking over 5 min on any science section (yeah..i'm nerdy)
